The Club was an equity shareholding and was the first fresh golf Club to be formed in Melbourne for approximately 60 years. In 1996 the then Club Chairman had a chance telephone conversation with the owner of the adjoining property, a spectacular piece of instinctive golfing links among st the sand dunes with the coastline to Port Phillip Heads in the background. The foundations of the Club were laid by huge visionaries who were not only solid busy astute businessmen, but they were also pure golfing enthusiasts. This outstanding complex is a tribute to their passion and love of the game, a legacy that will be enjoyed by tomorrow generations. Members of both Clubs voted in Cavour and as a result The National Golf Club is now the only golf club in Australia where members have access to four championship layouts. This leap of sixteen positions was the largest for any course in that year. The National now has over 3200 members, further distancing itself from competitors after already having the most golf members of any golf club in the Southern Hemisphere.

This service can also be done by any of our catering staff allowing time for your staff to receive store in the golfing activities. While your guests enjoy playing one of our three superb courses, why not let them receive some expert tuition from one of GA Teaching Professionals while he moves from group to group? Our GA Teaching Professionals are qualified to play a full round of golf with them while selfless expert advice and ensuring they appreciate the day, both on the course and in the clubhouse afterwards. You can utilize all three of our GA Golf Professionals by having them play a hole with each group. This event has been a lengthy time in the making. Be ready to play when it is your time to tee off.
