The Club has been there since 1956. Whilst the Mount Eliza Club is available, the Clubrooms are available to Members and non-Members alike, only to Members, to hire out for functions (inclusive of bar staff). BBQ facilities are also available for members to self cater. It has been extensively renovated over the years, providing comfortable surroundings in both winter and summer. The Clubhouse is situated in well kept gardens with ample car parking in front and behind. Takeaway sales are allowed for members. The Club bar serves Melbourne's best beer, with a wide selection of spirits and wines available. The Club provides a convivial and comfortable atmosphere for its members to enjoy business lunches, watch televised sporting events and enjoy the extensive social calendar of golf days, sportsmans lunches as well as club snooker and pool competitions. The current property was acquired from the Allfrey family and in 1956 it was issued with a liquor licence unique in Victoria thanks to its well resourced patrons. Previously, since 1952, local illuminaries such as Sir Edgar Coles, G.J. Coles and Sir Reginald Ansett had been meeting on weekends in a garage at Sir Edgar Coles property, Hendra, on Old Mornington Rd. Prior to this, meetings had been held at the Manyung Hotel (now the Melbourne Business School on Kunyung Rd). With its growing popularity (and lack of a liquor licence) the ranks of those attending (including judges, lawyers and police) deemed it socially responsible to source a property to relocate their social activities. It was established in Old Mornington Rd (cnr Alfrey Crt) by a group of local businessmen, including founding members Sir Edgar Coles and Sir Reginald Ansett, who desired a meeting place to socialise.
