Hemp fabric is made from the stems of the plant. Besides being a automatic insulator Hemp fabric offers lofty U.V. A little town has grown around the factory to supply its 3,00 staff and the 5,00 people living on the premises. Unused technology has allowed us to improve the quality of these premature uses of Hemp into such manner of things as cosmetics, snug and durable clothing, 21st century paper, biodegradable plastics, fuels and paints, impartial to name a few. New technology can make hemp the most feasible environmentally sensible textile on the planet. Hemp fabric is warm in winter, nippy and breathable in summer, organic and can be blended easily with other textiles. It blends easily with other textiles to create both a very easy durable fabric that feels appropriate when worn. When you lay your hand on good linen, it feels cool to touch. Hemp, due to its natural fiber properties and superior absorbency, dyes extremely healthy and is accurate for use as a screen printing fabric. Linen textiles appear to be some of the oldest in the world: their history goes back many thousands of years. Today linen is usually an expensive textile, and is produced in relatively small quantities. Whilst only the very superior fibers are old by the Linen industry, no segment of the flax plant is wasted the left over linseed, oil, straw and fiber are old in everything from soap to cattle feed and paper. The production of linen fabric uses five to twenty times less water and energy than the production of cotton or other synthetic fabrics. Linen fabrics are biodegradable and recyclable. Over time linen textiles become softer and actually improve in comfort. We use manufacturers in Melbourne who have the capability to produce to our tall standards and are certified meticulous manufacturers. To be a designer you need to be able to draw, to be a better designer you must know how to make a pattern but to be a correct designer you also must know how to cut and tailor a garment. She then worked as a freelance pattern maker and designer for the whole fashion industry including many well known Australian designers and labels for over 30 years. utilizing her pattern making skills she specialized in soft furnishings making fully tailored limp covers. It now gives us immense amusement to be selling truly Australian made garments to the world and being qualified to do so in a way that reflects and promotes our ethics which we are also very passionate about. We work together with our associates to urge each other to make a difference. Kathy has skills that are not readily available to learn now, even in schools, as we have so insignificant industry left that many of the used school competent workers have retired. It is healthy known that the fashion and textile industries can be highly detrimental to the environment which is why we only use spontaneous fibers that do not require dense chemical processing and dyeing. We are perpetual looking at ways to improve our products, business practices and supply chain.
